Good up to .650 lift with stock rockers
Valvetrain is stable up to 8,000rpm and 65psi

An FEA analysis was performed on the factory rockers after being subjected to 8,000rpm and .650 lift with no additional wear. The valves are Ferrea Competition Plus, easily the best valves on the market today. The springs are made by Pac Racing specifically for Ferrea to use with this valvetrain. Retainers are titanium and the locks/locators are machined and hardened.

The valves are slightly longer than stock due to geometry issues. When the rocker pad stops rolling and starts to drag, that’s when you get valve tip failures, not to mention excessive rocker pad wear. So we are going with a longer valve length to start the initial travel path earlier on the rocker pad radius. This will allow for greater valve lifts. We then calculated the dual valve spring install height and placed the single radial groove where the clearance between the rocker belly and the top of the Ti retainer will not rub.

Valves are 2.10/1.60 with optional 2.125/1.625

Seat Pressure: 160 lbs @ 1.715”
Open Pressure: 450 lbs @ 1.115”

To manufacture the valves we use special aerospace quality alloys, including EV8-Z18, which provides high tensile strength. An exclusive two-step slow forging process ensures proper grain flow and virtually eliminates any damage to the material structure. The valves are then heat treated and stress-relieved over a 48-hour period, which is the crucial base of our molecular integrity. These valves feature avionics-quality hard chrome along with a specially applied hard tip. Our engineering staff at Ferrea spends countless hours conducting flow bench tests to achieve an optimum balance of flow, velocity and efficiency in the design of this valve. As a result, these valves incorporate smoother radiuses and unique undercuts. These exclusive features are what make the Ferrea Competition Plus Valves unequaled in performance and reliability!

Due to the evolution in today's competition engine applications, temperatures are increasing and as a result, longevity is decreasing. Therefore, Ferrea is pleased to introduce our NEW! Competition Plus PQ Series Valve.


This is a next generation exhaust valve made of an Ultra High Strength, High Temp Nickel Stainless Stell Alloy. Ferrea first used this material with great success during the development of a very high stress, high temp endurance racing program.

This PQ Series next generation exhaust valve material will progressively replace Competition Plus Series valves as applications evolve and the material becomes necessary.

Listed below are some qualities of the Next Generation Exhaust Valve material:

Tensile strength increased by 20% at high temperature
Fatigue resistance increased by 20%
Valve seat life increased by 25%
 
Optional: CT-2 Coating: Ceramic "turbo coating" that reduces oil temperatures 15 to 30 degrees by containing heat in the combustion chamber and exhaust ports.
 
Optional: Full Race Polish job on the Intake and Exhaust Runners.
 
CORE CHARGES: Please contact us if you would like to send in your stock cores ahead of time for swap out or porting to avoid the up front Core Charge. You can also have an installation done at a PPP authorized installer to avoid the up front Core Charge in exchange for your already installed cores.

CORE CHARGE POLICY: All stock casting Core Charges will be returnable when undamaged stock cast cores are returned and inspected. Damaged cores will be sent back to the customer at the customers expense COD and the full core charge will be used to source new parts and therefore any and all core charges will be forfeited by the customer. Cores shall be returned within 30 days. After 31 days from ship date, 25% of the core charge will be forfeit. No cores will be accepted after 45 days from ship date and 100% of the core charges will be forfeit. Absolutely no exceptions or variances from this policy verbal or otherwise are applicable.
